| Volunteer Opportunities
Education (DOCENT) One of the primary roles of a Docent is to serve in educational and interpretive capacities. Docents play a role as roving Interpreters, Tour Guides, Animal Behavior Observers, Outreach Specialists, Museum, Gallery, Gift Shop Attendants and may also be working with live Sanctuary Animals in the course of Educational programs.\ Fundraising (DOCENT) Volunteers assist the sanctuary in a range of fundraising activities and help promote Sanctuary Programs such as Membership, Program, Sanctuary Expansion, Sponsorships, Events and other functions. Maintenance Volunteers with construction and maintenance skills may assist in many areas throughout the year. Gardening Volunteers with green thumbs, assist with planting and cultivating flowers, shrubs and trees. Gardeners also research the viability of introducing new flora into animal habitats and general landscaping throughout the Sanctuary. Administration Volunteers with administrative skills, may assist in Sanctuary offices, fulfilling various roles. Computer skills are not required, but helpful. Animal Care (Keeper Aide) Volunteers with the required aptitude, may work towards becoming Volunteer Aides assisting Sanctuary Keepers in supportive roles.
