New Mitten Creek Hike / Predators of the Heart show Mitten Creek is 20 acres of heavily timbered land that borders Anacortes Community Forest Lands (ACFL) . It contains wetlands and even has a waterfall that flows from Mitten pond. The adventure begins with a short hike through ACLF, approx .1/2 mile with your host. You will learn about the forest, wetlands, and wildlife, along with their roles in nature. After arriving to Mitten Creek, your kids will enjoy a camp fire and a hot cup of apple cider as they encounter some of natures finest predators. All animals are under a covered, 5000-square foot greenhouse that includes different environments, including an artificial swamp wetland. Classroom Discovery We will visit classrooms with some of our smaller animals. This is a fun experience where kids will learn about wild predators and their role in nature.
